The national news says it is heading right towards us.

Local news tells us not to worry.

My friend Mike and I have been tracking it using NOAA data and watching the pressure drop which means the hurricane is going to increase in strength...usually. This stuff is not an exact science by any means. For every 500 miles Jimena has travelled, the Central Pacific Hurricane Center has mispredicted its position by over 200 miles!

So what are we going to get?

A more benign tropical storm or a hurricane that is increasing in strength?

IsAre people on this island going to be prepared?
